Damhnait Doyle was born in Labrador City, Newfoundland, and grew up in St. John's. Her debut album, Shadows Wake Me, was released in 1996. In 1997 she was nominated for a Juno Award for Best New Solo Artist. She was also nominated in five categories at that year's East Coast Music Awards. |
